About

We moved a 20-year Bend trade shop to a new name, a new domain, and Webflow. Three months later, its average Google position is 4.5 spots higher.

01The problem

The old WordPress site at metoliusriverplumbing.com looked dated, and it did a poor job of turning visitors into calls. The owner said the information worked, but the "connecting portion" was lacking. The name "Plumbing" also undersold the hydronic and boiler work that sets the shop apart. The constraint: the rebrand meant a new domain. Domain moves often cost 10–30% of search traffic for 4–8 weeks. The site had to change name without losing its search history.

02The approach
  1. Strategy

We split the audience into builders and homeowners, and gave each a page. We led with the dual plumbing and boiler license as the main proof point. We built eight location pages for the towns the shop serves, from Bend to Prineville.

  2. Design

Earthy, quiet, and classic, to match the owner's answers on our brand sliders. The palette uses the shop's olive green, a deep green-black, warm red, and gold. Type is Plus Jakarta Sans for headings and DM Sans for body text, both free Google fonts, as the client asked.

  3. Webflow / CMS

We built the site in Webflow with CMS collections for projects, testimonials, FAQs, and service sub-pages, so the owner can add photos and jobs. We mapped all 27 old WordPress URLs to new pages with 301 redirects on the old host. We set up Search Console for the new domain and filed a Change of Address with Google.

03The result

The client's main goal was to inform visitors, then get them to make contact. In the first month after launch, the new domain averaged position 21.2 on Google. By the most recent 30 days, it averaged 16.7. That is 4.5 spots higher, after a domain change that often causes a drop.
